In Memory of Richard Ottavio De Vivo
Dick, his three brothers and their parents, loved the Newfound Lake region from the first day they saw it in 1952. The water was pure, the air clean and the scenery gorgeous, just as it is today. These regional attributes blended nicely with Dick’s innate sense of honesty, integrity, gentleness and loyalty. Dick’s noble human qualities also guided him in his daily behavior as a son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend. From pursuing his love of fly fishing to meeting the love of his life, Lynne, Newfound was the backdrop for many of Dick’s most special memories. Importantly, Dick passed on his fondness for the area to his sons and grandchildren thereby sustaining his love for the Newfound Lake region to succeeding generations.
Inspired by Dick’s love and respect for the region, the De Vivo family is now building on Dick’s legacy by contributing to the Newfound Lake Region Association’s campaign for the Grey Rocks Conservation Center. The Center will unify the Newfound community behind a shared vision of a healthy watershed and promote a culture of environmental awareness and stewardship, enhancing conservation efforts and securing a brighter future for the Newfound Watershed. It will stand as a testament to the Newfound community’s commitment to preserving the land and water of the Newfound region that Dick loved.
The De Vivo family’s special initiative will be acknowledged in the Welcome Area of the Conservation Center by a dedication plaque remembering Dick and inspiring others to love and preserve Newfound Lake.
You are warmly invited to join this effort and help make a lasting impact on Newfound Lake with a donation in Dick’s memory.
