Volunteer

Protect Newfound. Share your Time.

The Newfound watershed thrives because of people like you. When you volunteer with NLRA, you join a team dedicated to protecting clean water, healthy lands, and the natural beauty that makes this place so special. Whether you can give a few hours, a few days, or a whole season, there’s a way for you to make a difference.

Do you have a special skill or interest you would like to dedicate to our efforts?

We'd love to know more!  Email us at: info@ newfoundlake.org.

Ways to Volunteer

Lake Water Quality Monitor

Help safeguard lake health by collecting and processing water samples from Newfound Lake. The data you gather informs conservation decisions and helps us spot potential qater quality issues early. Read the full position description and email Paul@ NewfoundLake.org for more information and to sign up.

Tributary Water Quality Monitor

Our streams and rivers feed into Newfound Lake, and what happens upstream affects the lake's water quality. Tributary monitors help us understand the health of the watershed above the lake and identify water quality changes from development, roads, or runoff. Read the full position description and email paul@ NewfoundLake.org for more information and to sign up.

Nature Station Program Volunteer

Bring learning to life! Newfound Nature Station volunteers guide kids and families in fun, hands-on activities that spark curiosity about the natural world and inspire the next generation of conservationists. Read the full position description and email Mirka@ newfoundlake.org for more information and to sign up.

Lake Host

Be the front line against invasive species. Lake Hosts greet boaters at the Wellington State Park boat launch, conduct courtesy inspections for invasive aquatic species, and share how to protect New Hampshire’s lakes through clean, drain, and dry practices. Since 2002, Lake Hosts have prevented over 1,600 invasive plant fragments from entering state waters—including 28 right here on Newfound. Read the full position description and email Isabella@ NewfoundLake.org for more information and to sign up.

Weed Watchers

Help stop aquatic invasive plants before they spread. Weed watchers patrol shorelines, monitor plant growth, and alert NLRA to new threats. With training and support, you’ll become an important part of our defense. Read the full position description and email Isabella@ NewfoundLake.org  for more information and to sign up.

Snowshoe Crew

Join the Snowshoe Crew to keep trails at Grey Rocks open and safe after snowfalls. Volunteers pack down paths and report trail conditions so visitors can enjoy year-round access. Read the full position description and email Isabella@ NewfoundLake.org for more information and to sign up.
