For more than 40 years, volunteers have been keeping a close eye on Newfound Lake’s water quality—and that long-term record has a lot to tell us.

Newfound Lake began participating in the New Hampshire Lakes Lay Monitoring Program in 1986, establishing a continuous record of water quality measurements collected throughout the ice-free season. Over the years, NLRA and its volunteers have built on that foundation with additional studies, including year-round monitoring of the streams that feed Newfound Lake.

What can four decades of data tell us about the lake and its watershed? Join us to explore long-term water quality trends, differences among sampling locations, where Newfound’s water comes from, and how temperature and precipitation extremes can influence water quality.

Bring your questions about Newfound Lake, its streams, and the health of the watershed.
