Discover the fascinating world of wetlands on a guided hike through Cockermouth Forest to “Little Pond,” a bog within one of the Forest Society’s Eco-Reserves. We’ll look for unique wetland species, including carnivorous plants and turtles, while learning why wetlands are so important to a healthy Newfound Watershed.
This moderate to strenuous hike is approximately 4 miles. Bring appropriate footwear, water, and snacks.
This program is free and open to all, please leave pets at home.
Hikers will meet at the Grey Rocks Conservation Center at 8:30am and carpool to the Cockermouth Forest Trailhead.
