November 2025
Dear Newfounder,
Across New Hampshire, invasive species and pollution are damaging lakes that were once pristine. Now, Newfound faces the same danger.
In September, the invasive spiny water flea was discovered in the lake, a tiny invader that could disrupt Newfound’s delicate food web. We can’t remove it, and we don’t yet know the full impact it may have.
But we do know this: your support today still shapes the future of Newfound Lake.
Your donation keeps us at the forefront of the research needed to understand and respond to the spiny water flea. It also strengthens the programs that defend Newfound against the threats we can control, stopping harmful invasives like variable milfoil and preventing pollution from harming the lake.
The challenges are real, but so is your power to protect Newfound Lake.
Please consider a special year-end donation, of any amount that feels right to you, to help keep Newfound Lake clean, clear, and thriving. You can donate online right now at NewfoundLake.org/donate.
Your donation powers:
- Monitoring and rapid response to invasive species.
- Stormwater managementprojects that prevent pollution.
- Hands-on education for all ages that inspires environmental stewardship.
And now your gift will go further than ever before. With the opening of the new Grey Rocks Conservation Center, NLRA has the space to expand our science, education, and conservation programs—multiplying the impact of your support across the entire watershed.
Together, we can ensure Newfound remains clean, clear, and thriving for generations to come. Thank you for standing with me to protect this extraordinary place.
With gratitude,
Rebecca Hanson

P.S. The spiny water flea is here, but your action today ensures it doesn’t define Newfound’s future. Please make your donation, of any amount that reflects your commitment to Newfound, by December 31st to make an immediate impact for the lake we all love.
