Every inspection counts when it comes to preventing invasive aquatic species like variable milfoil, zebra mussels, and spiny water flea from entering our waters. This season, our dedicated team of Lake Hosts rose to the challenge.
2025 Summer by the Numbers
- 1,386 boats inspected at Wellington State Park
- 410 boats inspected at Grey Rocks Conservation Area
- 1,786 boaters educated about Clean, Drain, Dry practices
- 6 days/week coverage throughout peak season
As a result, no invasive species were found during inspections. Thank you boaters for doing your part to keep Newfound Lake clean and clear for future generations.
While Newfound remains free of aquatic invasive plants, invasive species are always just a boat ride away. Prevention through education and inspection is our best, and most cost-effective, defense.
Thanks to your support, boaters who launched this summer received a friendly reminder, and sometimes a helping hand, to check for hitchhiking plants or animals on their boat, trailer and gear.
The Lake Host Program is in partnership with NH LAKES. Learn more about aquatic invasive species at NewfoundLake.org/invasives.
